Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The assaults follow periods of air raids in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
